Every year, the Student Chapter of the INFORMS at Texas A&M acknowledges the dedication and outstanding performance of faculty members and students whose research is related to or promote the application of Operations Research (OR) and the Management Sciences (MS). Also, acknowledges the people who directly or indirectly support the activities of the Student Chapter, including Department Staff, current Officers and former Officers. The appreciation awards are given based on the following criterion:
1. Appreciation Award to the Faculty.
The award was first given in the Department's Annual Banquet to:

¨ª Professor Cetinkaya has been considered for nomination because she had a brilliant trajectory as a faculty member. ¨ª She has been very active in her research interest areas, and also developing several research projects with the Industry.

¨ª Professor Bickel is being considered for nomination because he taught new courses, and participates in the Area of Systems which is the new element of the Department transition from IE to ISEN. ¨ª He offered support and advice for the Student Chapter to contact speakers from the Industry including himself.
